CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Regional Development Council Region X Regional Gender and Development Committee (RDC-X RGADC) conducted its 3rd Quarter 2022 meeting on 12 August 2022 at Pearlmont Hotel, which was highlighted by the awarding ceremony for the certification of Batch 1 members of the Region X Pool of GAD Resource Persons (RPGRP) and the signing of a Partnership Agreement.
The regional level certification process is patterned after the National GAD Resource Pool process. The RGADC created a pool of regional GAD experts to harmonize critical GAD core messages and modules in the provision and delivery of appropriate and quality GAD technical assistance in the region. A Screening Committee implemented the Guidelines on the RPGRP Certification Process, as approved and adopted by RDC-X per Resolution No. 11, s. 2021 dated 19 March 2021.
The certification journey of the eight pioneering RPGRP members started in June 2021. The Screening Committee winnowed down the list from the original 30 applicants to heed the RGADC’s call for certification. For more than a year, they underwent several levels of evaluation and completed the requirements for the final assessment. The final list of the Batch 1 members was approved by the RDC-X per Resolution No. 43, s. 2022 dated 24 June 2022.
The new RPGRP members certified under a 3-year certification period are Ms. Sansehry B. Delos Santos, Ms. Marichu B. Montecillo, and Mr. Emenheil Earl A. Edulsa of the Bukidnon State University, Atty. Khristine Kay M. Lazarito-Calingin of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) North Mindanao Field Office, and Ms. Ma. Estrella Luz R. Penaloza of the National Economic and Development Authority-X. The newly-certified members under a 2-year certification period are Ms. Shaunell Mary J. Sayson of the Bukidnon State University and Ms. Editha D. Naldo of LGU-Valencia City.
The RDC-X per Resolution No. 42 (s.2022) awarded Atty. Pilipinas C. Palma of the Commission on Human Rights-X, First RPGRP Screening Committee Chairperson, a 3-year certification as GAD resource person upon the recommendation of the RGADC and was approved by.
Dr. Jesus Antonio G. Derije, DVM, RDC-X RAGDC Chairperson and President of Central Mindanao University, challenged the members of the RPGRP-Batch 1 and all RGADC members to remain steadfast in their commitment to advance the level of gender mainstreaming not only in their respective agencies and organizations but the entire region as well.
The hybrid meeting was participated in by 85 representatives from Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units, State Universities and Colleges, National GAD Resource Pool, and the PCW.
