CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –The RDC-X Economic Development Committee (EDC), during its 2nd quarter meeting last 10 June 2022, endorsed the 2021 Regional Development Report, which contains the priority action areas of the economic development sector to the RDC-X. The Committee committed to build on the gains of its significant contributions and improve productivity of the sector to further expand economic opportunities in agriculture, fishery, industry and services including tourism recovery; advance the science, technology and innovation agenda; and ensure ecological integrity.

The EDC also supported and endorsed the Mindanao Food Congress and the Cagayan de Oro Best Enterprise Service and Trade Exposition (OroBEST Expo) 2022 and the Buy Local Program of DTI.

The Committee further endorsed and supported the 12th RDC-PSR National Convention resolutions on “Enjoining all RDCs to Prohibit the Use of Single-Use Plastics in their Activities, Events, and Programs” and “Requesting all RDCs to push for the Intensification of the DAR’s Zero-Backlog Program Implementation.”

Regional Director Marie Elaine Unchuan of DOT-X also presented the DOT Mindanao Regional Offices’ flagship project – Colors of Mindanao, a unified thematic concept, which showcases and promotes the whole of Mindanao and its regions as one brand for tourism.

Co-Chairperson and Director of Xavier Science Foundation, Mr. Roel Ravanera, RDC-X PSR, the meeting presider, recognized the sustained commitment of the EDC officers and members, and thanked the Committee for its accomplishments for the term 2019-2022.
